Author: Forest-Climate Working GroupFor each Congress, the Forest-Climate Working Group develops a policy platform that outlines how policymakers can help private forest owners…
We unite the forest sector by creating a valuable forum for open dialogue and sharing ideas among the coalition’s diverse network of members; speaking with one voice to federal policymakers seeking to make an impact on the climate crisis; and providing policymakers with innovative, science-based ways to leverage forests and forest products as a natural climate solution. We are taking action in four areas:
We have long been trusted advisors to federal officials. We work with lawmakers from both political parties and federal agencies to educate them on how to support forest-climate solutions.
We help the U.S. Climate Alliance states set and bring to life ambitious commitments to forest-climate solutions by convening Learning Labs and providing technical assistance.
We help support the success of voluntary carbon markets through innovation and communications.
We lead on creating and sharing the best climate-smart practices and tools being developed across the sector.
